sb Shaker Boxes and Trays
Boxmaker Sumner Bennett produces oval Shaker boxes and trays at his shop in Amherst, New Hampshire. Each Shaker box or tray is individually fabricated. Bennett adheres to traditional Shaker techniques of wood preparation and shaping. Materials used are cherry and maple, special soft copper tacks and hardwood pegs which fasten the tops and bottoms. Boxes are oil finished then hand-rubbed. Trays are finished with oil and urathane
